Never a dull moment around here!

Rewind to Sunday Night, July 22nd after dinner in the Braun household.. All of a sudden, Chris says "I smell fire, something is burning!" He runs to the laundry room and opens the door to flames in the back of the dryer, I call 911 and we grab the kids and the dog and run outside. By then the fire alarm is blaring and all the neighbors are coming out of their homes. The fire trucks come roaring in 2 minutes later and the fireman come into the house. Let me tell you, when its your house on fire, you feel like all of this is happening in slow motion!! The smoke is coming out the front door and Chris (who's seen the flames) is really freaking out that the walls are now on fire! A few minutes later, out comes the dryer being carried out by 2 fireman, still fuming. They hack at it a bit and open it up and spray it to extinguish it.. So apart from some dirt and some smoke stains on the walls, we're all good. Of course, the dryer is done and so is the washer. Their replacements are coming on Thursday.

What a scare! Moral of the story is.. Never run your dryer when you are not home (2 hours early, we had done just that!) and make sure your dryer is venting properly, we're not sure what caused our 3 year old dryer to catch on fire but the half a$$ job that was done to vent it sure didn't help!



It's a series of unfortunate events, the Honda CR-V is totaled, Ana's cell phone gets stolen and now the dryer, lets hope these bad things come in threes and that's IT!
